This is a 4.6-mile out-and-back hike, starting at The Ocoee Whitewater Center. There will be a $3 per vehicle charge to park. The trail follows the Ocoee river. It is an easy hike with little change in elevation. After the hike we will eat our trail snack at the visitor center where you can learn about the river and the Olympic events. On the drive back we recommend that you drive up Rt 411 so that you can stop off at the Amish farmers’ market just south of Etowah. Since it’s the end of season their selections will, no doubt, be limited, but whatever is there will be good. We can also stop at the Savannah Vineyards, which is on the same road as the farm.
Bring water, a trail lunch, walking stick, hiking boots, and $4.00 per person for gas for your driver.
Directions to Ocoee Whitewater Visitor Center: I75 south to exit 25 (US Route 64). Then go east 30 miles on Route 64 to the visitor’s center.
